Karaoke Mic.?

Another karaoke machines question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: I have a karaoke machine, its a plastic one tho. I dont like the microphone i have.. its rubbish and flimsy. Id like a metal heavy one which they have in clubs/pubs. Is there any watts or something which is used in microphones which make them powerful/loud?.
Answer: There are shitty mikes and good mikes. Shure and Sennheiser make very good mikes. There are other brands of course, but you can't go wrong with either of these brands.

On the other hand, you're doing karaoke, it's not a huge deal so I wouldn't go out and buy the best mike out there, just a regular good one.

Well, the easiest is to look for one that is not too cheap. The cheap ones may look good and promise allot with nice packaging and so forth, but you're going to waste your money as the mic is of bad quality. Take a look at a few prices, and take one that is in the middle rance as you won't need a professional mic and it will be great for karaoke.
    hope this helps.

    Hi,

Firstly the mics themselves dont make things loud. That would be the amps and speakers.

I would recommend the SHURE SM58 (OR BETA 58) mics. They are a little costly (sm58 about £60 Beta 58 about £80) but will last you a long time and these are the ones pro karaoke djs use and the ones you see the pop stars using on TV (radio mic version about £350).

    Hope this helps.

By the way if you are looking for very VERY cheap karaoke disks, let me know as I have about 50,000 karaoke tracks.
