Going to the Pub Tonight, What Should I Sing on the Karaok

This week’s question is as follows:

Question: I cant sing, i like to think i can but im not overly brilliant. But it doesnt matter so long as you get up and look like your having a brilliant time no one will mind and will clap you along.
What songs should i do? I always end up doing the same 4 – fast car, total eclipse of the heart, 2 out of 3 aint bad and the passenger.
I want something different but something that everyone knows the words to and will sing/clap/dance along to! (theres a lot of different ages in the bar i go to, ranging from 18 to 21 as a big chunk, then the 40-45′s as another large chunk then the handful of 70 odd year olds being the main age groups.

Theres always someone who does purple rain and little red corvette, men at work (you know the one that goes "can you hear can you hear that thunder, you better run you better take coverrr") and some elvis and abba so something thats not those please!

thanks!!! (if poss list 10 things each! i get up a few times)

Answer: I know this sounds a bit odd – but it’s easy and comes across really well because it’s a fun tune: Sugar Town by Nancy Lee Sinatra (the older crowd will love it) or something current for the younger set like Run by Razorlight (not the Leona Lewis version! unless you can do all these mad runs). 50 Ways to Leave your Lover – Paul Simon. Tainted Love – Gloria Jones or Soft Cell version. California Dreaming – Mamas & the Papas. Boulevard of Broken Dreams – Green Day. Dancing in the Moonlight – Toploader. Time after Time – Cyndi Lauper. Daydream Believer – Monkees. American Pie – Don McLean. Not many "recent" tunes but it’s always the old one’s that everyone knows that usually work best. Good Luck and Have Fun!!!

When the orchestra leader asked George Bernard Shaw, who was dining, if he wanted the band to play something, GBS said "Yes, dominoes."
    Good advice. Just drink.
