How Do I Play .CDG Karaoke Tracks?

What’s this week’s karaoke question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: OK I have a pair of files, one MP3 and the other called a CDG file, which I understand contains the lyrics. But how in the name of all that’s holy do I get BOTH files to run either in Windows Media player or VLC media player?!!!!!
Answer: You can play them with Walaoke as and as both has the same name with only the extension are different. Like, sample.mp3 and sample.cdg. You only need to load the mp3 file and the software will automatically load the cdg file and display the lyrics. You can even use a video or webcam to replace the boring one color background if you want. If you are a little more adventureous and have more time. You can even fix the lyrics and have better quality than the .cdg by using .lrc or .xml file. Since lrc and xml only use text, the quality is much better than the pre-created graphics cdg provide. It is also easier to fix. All you need is a text editor like notepad will do.

    Hi, I know cdg files have to do with karaoke and lyrics. I know of 2 things that can play them, one is a plugin for windows media player. Except they are not free applictations. I did a little searching and found 3 things that might play the files, I CANNOT gurantee they will work though. Here they are,

I think you have to install it then right click and open the file, its kind of a weird program interface. I just downloaded some cdg test samples and this does work. I just don’t like it’s interface, I haven’t tried the other two below. (Just click on the cdg file with this program and the music will automatically open up with it.)
